Access, Inclusion, & Diversity Committee

Purpose
The Access, Inclusion, & Diversity (AID) Committee serves MASFAA by acting as a catalyst and advocate for the engagement of the association and its members in issues related to higher education access, inclusion, & diversity. AID works with other MASFAA committees and engages the membership directly to stimulate discussion and promote awareness of how financial aid professionals can and do influence the status of the various underrepresented populations we all seek to serve.

Composition
The Committee is comprised of one or two appointed chairpersons as well as a number of volunteer committee members. Designated AID members serve as active liaisons to and involved members of the Professional Development and Training, Conference, Communication, and other committees.

2011 - 2012 Objectives
1. Refocus the committee's energy on active support of the updated statement of purpose, above.
2. Establish and maintain dynamic liaison relationships with the Professional Development and Training, Conference, Communication, and other committees, and collaborate with then to infuse their efforts with content related to access, inclusion, & diversity.
3. Identify strategies to promote the Diversity Library as a tool for engaging the membership and stimulating discussion, and implement those identified as promising.
4. Rebrand/rename the Committee to more accurately project the updated statement of purpose.
