Massachusetts Association of Financial Aid Professional (MASFAA) and American Student Assistance (ASA) know how important it is for high school guidance counselors and college access professionals to have accurate and up-to-date information—but it’s not always easy for a counselor or program leader to keep up.
That’s why MASFAA’s Early Awareness Committee is proud to team up with American Student Assistance to facilitate National Training for Counselors and Mentors (NT4CM) in Massachusetts. NT4CM’s mission is to provide free training, information, resources, and tools regarding federal, state, and local financial aid programs for counselors and mentors working with students and their families. Members of the Early Awareness Committee currently volunteer their time to present the NT4CM material during the Massachusetts Education Finance Authority’s (MEFA) annual Guidance Counselor Boot Camp and the Massachusetts School Counselor Association’s (MASCA) annual spring conference. NT4CM is sponsored by Federal Student Aid (an office within the U.S. Department of Education), the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs, the National Association for College Admission Counseling, and the American School Counselor Association.
To learn more about NT4CM please visit their website at http://www.fsa4counselors.ed.gov/clcf/NT4CMindex.html and be sure to check MASFAA’s calendar of events for scheduled trainings.
American Student Assistance (ASA) is the NT4CM sponsor for Massachusetts and D.C.
