President’s Welcome

Welcome to MASFAA 2017-2018

Greetings Friends!

At this year’s retreat for Executive Council in August, we planned for a year of wonderful programming and trainings as well as more work on updating the Strategic Plan.  Our annual conference will be November 14 & 15, 2017 at the Hyannis Conference Center.  We plan to offer the annual Tax Workshop, Just the Facts, the Support Staff Workshop, the Carnival of Learning and the Graduate Symposium. We are looking forward to welcoming another cohort to the MASFAA Leadership Academy.   The Literacy Committee is excited to offer the Financial Literacy Symposium in October.  Hopefully, this will be the first of many.  Continue to check the website and make sure you sign up for the listserv to get all the most recent updates on new and events!

We were lucky to have NASFAA’s President Justin Draeger attend the MASFAA year-end event this past July.  He mentioned how impressed he was with our association and that we have one of the strongest state associations in the country.  I am proud to be associated with such a fantastic group of hard-working and dedicated financial aid professionals.

Are you interested in participating in one of MASFAA’s many committees? Do you have an idea for a training?  Would you like to get involved with Executive Council? Please feel free to reach out to me with any requests or feedback.  This is your association and MASFAA’s continued success is based on continued participation from the membership.

I’d like to thank Shawn Morrissey for his help and assistance this past year in my role as President-Elect and I am looking forward to working with Bonnie Quinn as she prepares her year as President in 2018-2019.

Thank you,

Susan Sullivan
