Guest Speaker

Grechen Holthaus

Hear from a policy expert on the importance of providing financial litearcy to students on our college campuses. While we all know the importance of having the skillset to manage our money, Ms. Holthaus will address this from the perspective of research and how the lack of financial wellness for our students can negatively impact college retention and graduation rates for our schools. The data Ms. Holthaus presents will be information you can share with your senior adminstrators to show them how important it is to help our students learn and maintain financial wellness in their lives.

Panel Session

Hear from a panel of peers who currently provide financial wellness education programming to college aged students and hear how they are able to actively engage students in this life long learning process. We will also have the distinct pleasure of hearing from some Massachusetts high school students who have presented to the Massachuetts Board of Education in advocating for the inclusion of financial literacy education in Massachusetts high schools.

Resources & Tools

Grabbing the attention of our students is half the battle in teaching them about financial literacy. Whether it is a really cool app or snazy marketing technique, this session will focus on some tools and resources you can use to help in advertising your events as well as assist you in teaching your students about financail literacy.

Financial Literacy Fun

We will end the day with some financial literacy fun for all audience members. Make sure you brush up on your financial literacy knowledge as we will have a friendly competition to see who knows the most about financial literacy concepts. Hint: make sure to bring your cell phones to this session!
